Cleaning up today in Brighouse following yesterdays flooding after days of constant rain,
the water was over this car park wall last night the river Calder is just on the other side,
2,000 homes where flooded in Calderdale with thousands more in Cumbria, Lancashire & Yorkshire, fortunately I live on a hill no danger for me but many roads are closed.
We are celebrating an inch of rain which brought us some relief from the hot, dry weather we've been experiencing. However Australian news services have been showing the flooding in northern England and I wondered how all my 365 friends in that area were holding up. Pleased to hear you are high if not dry.
Glad to hear you are ok Peter. We have been watching on TV.We are hoping that we get some rain at home but not until after we get back there otherwise we might be delayed on the return trip.
Glad to hear that you are ok Peter. Makes sends to live on a hill. We do too. Thought ahead on that one.
I phoned my sister a couple of days ago and heard how bad the weather was in the UK.
@ubobohobo Thank you so much for finding the time to comment its much appreciated, I visited my uncles farm in NSW in 2002 they had not had rain for 4years they had cut all the trees down around the house as a fire break, fortunately it rained two weeks later, hope you get some soon:)
@onewing Thank you so much Babs, we always try to stay high and dry, if it flooded our place Noah would be out with his ark in the rest of Calderdale:)
@dide@dide Thank you so much for your kind words Dianne, looks like you are getting your share of rain on your Christmas Eve posting such lovely green fields:)
