Akroydon Photographic Exhibition by pcoulson

Akroydon Photographic Exhibition

The Mayor of Calderdale Ali Ferman chatting to one of our camera club members after opening the "Picturing the Past, Present and Future of Akroydon" all images by our camera club, (Halifax Photographic Society), this is the first exhibition in the newly refurbished Link Gallery at Bankfield Museum.
The Akroydon model housing scheme is a Victorian era village at Boothtown, Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. It was designed in the Gothic style by George Gilbert Scott in 1859 for the workers at the mills of Colonel Edward Akroyd, who had bought, in 1855, the 62,435 acres (252.67 km2) of land on which the village was built.
Looks a great exhibition.

@dide @quietpurplehaze @louannwarren Just as a point of interest each wall was themed, this wall has images depicting All Souls Anglican Church built in 1859 and financed by Colonel Edward Akroyd:)
