Fibres, a sculpture by local artist Ian Randall, was built in St. Blaise Square in 1997, on the former site of Bradford Forster Square railway station. it represents the transition of the old technology (rail) to the new (fibre optics) its sited on the walkway through to the new Bradford Forster Square Railway Station, which is to my back.
Amazing sculpture. I have never seen it - must put it on my list to check out next time I come up to Bradford. I really like the line of the arches and the grunginess of them as well!
@suesouthwood Thank you for your comment Sue, its situated on the walkway from the Midland Hotel to the New Forster Square railway station, the grungy arches were part of the original railway line I was told, these are illuminated at night, I'll have to go back and have a look:)
The sculptures are great, I like how the pavement seems to continue up. I love the building/bridge in the background with all those arches and moss, etc., just beautiful.
@bella_ss Thank you Sheralee for your great comment, what you can't see at this angle is that the train lines are leading into and forming the structure:
@mcsiegle Thank you for your lovely comment Mary, that's the wonderful thing about our 365project, we get to see so many images of places and things we will never see in person:)
