Green Shield Bug

Scientific name: Palomena Prasina I found this little fellow in my garden today encouraged him to walk onto some cardboard and got a few shots
I can understand his name. He certainly looks like he has on a shield. Great close up.

I really enjoy the look of Green Shield bugs, though they always remind me of my childhood and our books of Green Shield Stamps we used to collect! Super shot

@onewing Thank you for your comment Babs, The native common green shield bug is harmless and control measures are not required we just leave them be as they are not a problem in our garden:)

@casablanca thank you for your comment, brave of you to admit that Casablanca when to realise how long ago it was, introduced in 1958 by Richard Tompkins, They were popular during the 1960s and 1970s. the catalogue stores, warehouses and vehicle fleet were re-branded Argos in July 1973 OMG finished 45years ago and I remember them so well, lol:)

Heck, I remember Green Shield stamps too...prefer THIS kind of green shield though. Lovely shot of a delightful insect
