@anniesue Thank you for your comment Annie Sue, to get rid of the shadow I would have had to move the workmate from my workshop could not be bothered, lol:)

I have a 40-year old Workmate. Mine doesn’t look as “well-loved” as yours, but they both have a lot of years on them!

@rhoing How interesting Thom thanks for the link will check mine out, purchased mine in the UK in 1968 for working on my first home before getting married, so they must have been available before 1974 as they were invented by Englishman Ron Hickman in 1961 and first manufactured in the UK around the same time)
