Jack o' the locks by pcoulson

Jack o' the locks

Sculptor by Roger Burnett produced this Bronze statue in 1999 of Richard Tiffany pushing backwards against a lock gate arm, locatated at the entrance to Sowerby Bridge Moorings/Basin
The sculpture depicts the town's lock keeper during the last days of commercial carrying. Richard Tiffany was a well-known local character and his great-grandson modelled for the figure of the boy.
A wonderful sculpture, so much meaning too.

The statue is fantastic and its description excellent. Each photo adds a little more general culture.
