Gatehouse by pcoulson

Gatehouse

Another greeting card from Lightcliff, this was the original gatehouse entrance to Crow Nest Mansion the home of Sir Titus Salt 1st Baronet, an English manufacturer, politician and philanthropist he lived in the mansion from 1844 until his death in 1876.
I like your composition, Peter, with the open gate taking us in. Lovely light on the brickwork and the blue sky and green grass make a beautiful backdrop! Fav

@louannwarren Thank you for your lovely comment and Fav Lou Ann it’s appreciated, Titus Salt was born in 1803 and moved to Crow Nest Mansion after amassing a fortune as a mill owner and manufacturer at the age of 41 years, so this makes him around 73 years old at the time of his passing:)
