These were remarkably pungent, especially close up! My wife hails from Dublin and calls these onions "scallions". I have only ever known them as "spring onions". Any other offers?
Many thanks for all your kind comments and suggestions. They are all very much appreciated.
Surprising how strong these can be (the spring onions) - they've made me cry before. Good job there's no smell-o-vision with this photo! Super focus on that elastic band and perfect for the mundane challenge.
Good idea for the mundane challenge. I have heard spring onions called scallions in the North of England, although we never did in our part of West Yorkshire
When we lived in Dublin, they called them Scallions, which I thought was a marvellous name :) Spring Onions is the only other thing I have ever heard them called. So so strong in aroma but oh so tasty! I am with @laroque - the elastic band is the star!
