Get Pinked by peadar

Get Pinked

Another for my Get Pushed challenge this week set by Sally "either take a minimalistic shot or to shoot opposites. The choice is yours."

This is processed way beyond my normal inclination but this was the effect I was looking for. I'll leave you to judge and really welcome constructive criticism.

Many thanks for recent comments, especially on "Thinking", yesterday's shot.

At Sarah's suggestion here's a slightly lighter version:

@salza Sally, another try at minimalist but in a slightly different way.

Love this Peter. Well done. Just wondered if you could reduce the shadow in the centre of the flower slightly

@sarahlth Sarah - yes, I experimented with various shades on the shadow. I'll try over and post in my Extras album for you.

Just to be contrary...I like the shadowed version..colors look more nuanced. Pinks are very hard for me to keep the details.

Super capture. I prefer this one. For me there is more detail on the petals.

I prefer this one as the other one loses definition and detail in my opinion.

I too prefer this one. Both interesting though. How did you cancel the background ? Light or pp?
October 3rd, 2017
@caterina Caterina, it was a bit of both. Both the background white panel, and the flower, were well lit. I then increased the exposure, highlights and whites in processing, adjusting the tones on the flower so that wasn't washed out.

Just personal preference...like this one better

very bold and dramatic. not sure if i thanked you for your follow a while back - if not i do apologise, and thank you now - and am looking forward to following you too :)

@pistache Thanks, Clare.

@peadar thank you. I need to go to a course on pp. and not only!😜

I prefer this one because for me it looks more natural.

I too prefer this one, the petals have more definition. A lovely bright & bold shot
October 3rd, 2017
Perhaps this one, more detail in the petal shapes

Pretty colour!
October 3rd, 2017
I think I prefer this one as the colour is more subtle

I like this one better, also. It gives it more depth and interest.

This one wins for me - I really like the minimalist composition.

I like the captured minimalism in this beautifully colored shot, but... the flower also has a lost look, hanging in mid air.

Well done. I like this one. He's so addictive

I prefer this one - and looks great on black. I might have turned the flower through 180 deg to have the shadow at the bottom and larger petals at the top perhaps - if not then I agree with @sarahlth. I still really like it in its current form though.

Love it, nice negative space and it really pops when viewed on black.

I think the lighter version suits the almost surreal nature of the composition
