Yes, more food and more flash! I've realised (doh!) that the other lighting is also important. This was a deep blue flash filter, taken in very low light, with some borrowed light from the next room. It provides some interesting colour effects, if slightly surreal.
By the way, one of my favourite pasta dishes, as well.
