contrasts

The Oxford Canal is one of the most beautiful, and rural, of the British canals. However, one of the things I love about canals is that every now and then we get a real contrast, and a nod back to canal history, as the old meets the new. This is Banbury, Oxfordshire, and we are taking the boat through the lock right in the middle of town.
Bizarre moored outside H&M!! just love the canal boats, great shot!

It's handy for the shops, isn't it? I was around this part of the canal during this week (on land), but don't think I saw your boat.

That looks like fun thing to do. Will have to reasearch it. Is this a guided tour or just something you are doing on a private boat ?

@bardejov You can hire these boats on the UK canal system. Crafts on most of the canals are restricted to a maximum width of 7ft - this is because this is the width of the locks. They were built this narrow to save on costs. There are numerous boatyards around the canal system.
