The Londesborough Arms by peadar

The Londesborough Arms

This is Market Weighton - between Hull and York in the Yorkshire wolds. Historically the town was listed in the Domesday Book as "Wicstun" and was granted its charter to become a market town in 1251.

The Londesborough Arms is an old coach house previously called "The Devonshire Arms" which was built in the 1780's by the 5th Duke of Devonshire and used as the main coach house for the area.
Seems like a nice place to stay :)

A lovely shot of the High Street in Market Weighton. Lovely light on the buildings. I've done quite a bit of walking around this area and up onto the Yorkshire Wolds (Good links onto the Wolds Way long distance path). Lots of interesting history to explore! Fav!

Lovely shot of a beautiful building. It's astonishing how much land and property the Dukes of Devonshire have owned!
