Whatever Floats your Boat

This was taken late Sept. 2023. I wanted a good photo of these yellow roses, as well as the sailboat to the upper right of it. (I took a bazillion pics this day as I waited for my friend. You will be seeing more of these flowers, so stay tuned.)

@olivetreeann Oh, thank you so much. I want to learn about your screen name. You don't like olives, but your name is olive tree Ann? Do share. Haha!

Oh, yes, it does seem like a contradiction in regards to food, but my screen name is based on something from the Bible. My Christian faith is a very important facet of my life. I have been blessed to study deeply the words of the Bible at two schools- more "recently" at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack NY (graduated in 2005 with a Master of Divinity) and before that at Philadelphia Biblical University at a specialzed school called The Institute of Jewish Studies. My program there was a one-year study which focused on looking at the Bible through the eyes of Israel from Genesis to Revelation. During that study we looked at how all people who believe in Jesus (Jew or Gentile) are brought together by Him. An illustration of this is written in the New Testament in the Book of Romans where Paul says the God brought His message of love and salvation first through Israel (symbolized by an Olive Tree), and then through all people who believe in Jesus like a branch can be grafted in to a tree. I always liked that imagery- that I am grafted in to a very special tree of faith- so that's where the name comes from.
