Really interesting to me as we don't do this. Some kids wander around doing trick or treat a bit half-heartedly but this has been copied from American films. Would love to see some more. Extreme yard art!
cool. is it just this view or is this some eclectic architecture? that looks like a dutch colonial gamble roof on this side, but the other side seems to be something else. can't tell if it's just the angle or if i'm out of practice.
@Laura - I'm not totally up on architectural styles...but, I do know that the homes in our neighborhood were built in the early 1900's as a trolley suburb to uptown. Most of the houses are either Craftsman bungalows or Victorian, with a few Colonial, and a few eclectic blends like the home in the photo. Bad angle on that pic that doesn't do justice to it's uniqueness. That house sits on a corner and each side of it looks completely different...???
i have completely given up on decorating my house this year....with the bathroom construction going on...it's a mess here every day. hopefully they will be done by Nov 1st.
re your comment: thanks so much....i needed a boost today. someone hacked my pc and i have been unable to access my work...very upsetting day for me!
Wow, they do go all out!! Not sure I'd want a cemetery sign at the entrance to my house, but I'm sure they have a great time with it! With no children at home, and no grand-children yet, I have kind of given up on decorating. I just buy the candy, and keep re-buying until the actual day, because I can't seem to stay out of it, darn it!! P.S. Your dad is adorable. I'm so glad you are sharing him with your 365 family!
RE: The Brutus blog, I'm so glad you found it and are enjoying it. It has been a great outlet for me. I moved to the lake this summer with the hope of trying to write some children's books (ages 5-7 range) based on some of the stories, but every day was so filled with Brutus's escapades and training, that the blogging was as far as I got. There might come a day. He's such a funny dog. It's so hard for me to fathom someone hurting him or throwing him away!! We feel very lucky to have him. He will probably be our only dog, since some day we want the freedom to come and go as we please, but as long as Don is still working, and I am home, it works out great. Give Harper a kiss from your 365 sister!
i thought this looked like an assemblage of revival styles rather than a strict interpretation of any one. sorry, but years ago, i studied historic preservation. seems like a life time ago ...
Thanks for the comments!
@Robin - I'll post some more extreme yard art for you in the coming weeks. Folks around here go all out for Halloween!
