Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film.
Today Harper, Molly and I went to see the "Bring the Family" exhibition. It was an interesting group of photographic work portraying family. Afterward, we met Tom for lunch. A good day.
A brief bit about the photographers:
Tina Barney's work focuses on the comfortable lives of the social elite.
Lydia Panas portrays the complexities of family relationships.
Catalina Kulczar-Marin puts faces to the marriage equality issue.
Harper is still forming her style.
You had me on the first photo with Harper's stroller and the "bring the family' sign . That was a brilliant compostion! Love the collage but the first photo is my favorite.
Yes, very nice. I thought Harper's stroller was an installation piece. lol. It is a beautiful space. This is where you are going to take a photo class, right? Maybe, you will exhibit there someday!
That sounds like such a fun place to go, especially now that you have such an eye for photography! It looks like a beautiful studio also. And spending a day with your daughter and Harper.....priceless!!
@girlie ~ Harper loved it so much she slept through most of our museum time...it was so quiet and peaceful, perfect for napping. She loved the brief train ride going up and back, as well as lunch. :)
@stephsharif ~ You have an excellent memory. This is where I'll be taking classes. I can't wait to get started after being inspired by this exhibition. :)
@clarissajohal ~ It's actually a relatively small part of a large arts complex with two small theaters and a couple of other small art galleries, as well as classrooms and studios on the second and third levels for photography, filmmaking and other art forms and performing arts.
@pinktornado39
Total tabula rasa ~ and I love seeing what develops. I have a feeling Harper's style will be rather avant garde as she has such a delightful and open personality. :)
@petersonsheri Thanks, Sheri. It was lots of fun and a beautiful day. I hope all is well in your life...I know you've had a few jolts lately. Thinking of you. :)
Thanks for taking the time to comment, everyone. It's a very cool museum. According to their literature "The Light Factory, dedicated to exhibition and education, is one of only four museums in the United States that promotes the power of image through photography and film." I didn't know that.
