This is the extent of our Irene experience...a bit of a breeze and not a drop of rain. We were lucky. My thoughts are with those who have been hit hard by the hurricane.
Glad to be back after a prolonged down time. Will get to work catching up on your fabulous shots and stories. I've missed being in touch with everyone. :)
We didn't have much more, but after watching the news the last few days and what happened to many locales in the tri-state area, I consider ourselves to be extremely fortunate.
Lucky for you. We did get it pretty severe but with little damage just a lot of rain and winds - loosing power, having to go out for a bite to eat, sit in starbucks to recharge our phone and ipad and computer - other than that yeah it could have been a lot worse. Always better to error on the side of caution. Unfortunately Vermont which is close to the Canadian border did not fair well as they were not expected to be hit the way they were.
I was wondering how you fared. Happy to hear your area was fortunate in the recent extreme weather. Thank you for being so supportive of me after my injury.
i'm so glad to know you're ok, i started to be worried not to hear from you... and to give you a proof i was thinking of you, i started to read the book we're talked about!
Great to see you back Peggy & that this is Irene's worst in your neighbourhood - poor baby tree tho! Thanks for your comment on my pic - we are reading 'Future Homakers of America' by Laurie Graham (my suggestion - I love that book) an The Music Room by William Fiennes suggested by a group member who had a crush on him at college!!
You should definitely put 'Future Homemakers' on it - it's set in The Fens to the East of Cambridge - traditionally a real backwater and home to several American Airbases. The story is about friendships between women amongst other things.
