Flyover by peggysirk

Flyover

I heard some honking and barely had time to grab a camera before these Canada geese flew over the house. (I cropped out the distracting line of roof/gutters). I'm thinking this 74 degree (23C) day in Charlotte, NC has these guys thinking about heading home before long.

Thanks for the comments on yesterday's photo. I'm setting aside a couple of hours tonight to catch up with comments myself. Looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to! :)
yay I heard some honking and saw this beautiful capture! Sorry, have been working too hard and have missed seeing you xx

What a great sight - I love to hear that sound and then you're searching the sky for them. Good catch!

they are lucky you just had a camera.

@jenrobcarr thanks, Jennifer! I've been hit and miss with 365 lately and feel so out of touch with everyone too. I'm going to try to do better! :) Take care and don't work too hard!

@bpaquette ~ They should be heading your way soon, Barbara. It's warming up fast down this way. :)

@judithg I agree with you, Judith. There is something rather primordial about the sound of migrating geese. I was happy to see and catch them in time ~ otherwise you'd get a shot of dinner prep. :)

@sarasdadandmom I only hunt skeet and snipe, Terry. :)

@peggysirk Oh yeah, some friends took me snipe hunting in High School. LOL

We had quite a warm day here, ourselves! Beautiful blue sky backdrop in this photo! (Don't you wish these was an "erase annoying stuff" editing tool? Your crop worked well.)

Very nicely caught, Peggy; just in time.

Thanks for your great message and comments, Peggy. I've simply had no time to think about myself so have let myself get a little rundown. Have decided to put aside some time each day to do things other than worry. I love the communication with you and all my other friends here; just have to make sure it doesn't overtake my life again. Almost died the other day from anaphylactic shock brought on by a wasp attack. Quick action from the ambos and shots of adrenaline at the hospital saved me; lucky to be alive, so I'm celebrating with a return to 365.

Wow wonderful capture, you have to be very quick to get a picture like this

@girlie Oh my gosh, Robin! What a close brush with disaster!! Thank goodness for quick medical intervention. With all the photo shoots you do around flowers with stinging insects, I hope that you travel with an EpiPen in your camera bag. Be careful out there!! And enjoy your return to 365 without letting it overwhelm you. I find that I have more fun with it when I don't pressure myself to post when I just don't have the time. So glad you are still with us ~ in more ways than one! :)
