seems to arriving a few weeks early. After a gorgeously mild Spring, the heat and humidity are on the rise. I don't know how folks survived summer in the South before the advent of air conditioning. This was my grandfather's fan that he kept in his office at work back in the 50's...it still works perfectly.
Hello Peggy. Greetings from Edmonton Canada. I came across this picture on the browse page. What a great piece of your family history to have. Very cool that it still works
@judithg Life was supposedly simpler back then, but dressing for women must have taken hours with the hairstyles, the cumbersome undergarments, the matching shoes and handbags, hats, jewelry, etc. :)
Must admit I've still got one of these; it's never failed me. Nice to hear you all complaining about the heat at last! As for your reply to @judithg it might have taken a bit longer than it does now but it was a great deal more fun.
@peggysirk@girlie I remember my mother having umpteen 'under layers'! I could do with something 'pull you in and push you out' myself but only in winter!!
@judithg I agree; summer was the worst time for those wretched undergarments. But we wouldn't do without them. Couldn't have any wobble underneath those tight skirts we all wore then!
