Night Sky on the 4th of July

I was on the top deck of a parking garage with my tripod and shutter release cable all set to go for the big fireworks display last night. I realized too late that my vantage point was all wrong and I had to hand hold my camera as there was no space left for relocating my tripod. So much for the "perfect" fireworks photos. But it was a fun night and a great fireworks display...and out of 234 photos I ended up with 5 that weren't a total big, hot mess. :)

These came out great! At least you got to see fireworks. We had a fireworks ban here due to the drought. There were some public displays, but none convenient to me so I went to bed early.

These five rock ! We don't see many fireworks here ( ever ) There are strict laws controlling where and how ! although I do remember catherine wheels ( I think thats what they where called ) when I was young :-)

@judithg :) Might as well, Judith! As a lot once upon a time so livid over taxes on stamps and tea, over the course of 240 years we've allowed ourselves to be taxed even after death...go figure. :)
