When Harper came over the other day she had her new big girl backpack to show me. She'll be starting 2 year old preschool next month. She'll be attending the one day a week program (9:30am - noon). :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I'm looking forward to watching a good bit of the Olympics coverage...perfect thing to do when it's 100 degrees (38C) outside.
@happypat@bpaquette I was hoping grandchildren would grow more slowly than did their parents...but that does not seem to be the case. We have a ton of toys to choose from at our house, Barbara, but the first thing Harper goes for are the alphabet flashcards and puzzles ~ every time. :)
@judithg :) I was hesitant to post this photo as it looks like Harper has a didactical and overbearing Grammy pushing flashcards on a toddler. The truth is she loves those flashcards and will go through the toy basket to pull them out first thing...well, actually second to all of the balls she can find.
@peggysirk I was really paying more attention to the cute T shirt than the letters but if little ones have a lot of books read with them I think they start to get curious about letters. My favourite 'toy' was a box of 'number rods' for doing maths with but it was because they were good for building things and we didn't have Lego!!
Oh look at that precious little one. Had to laugh at your comment to @judithg about the 'didactical and overbearing Grammy'! My little Alex loves all that stuff, too. The more exposure they get to letters and numbers the better. I've got a great shot of Alex with his first Thomas the Tank Engine backpack; it's way bigger than he is! Might post it some time.
Oh, she is so precious! She looks like a little lady on a mission with that backpack! I can't hardly believe she is 2!?!? Wow, seems like yesterday you were posting pics of a teenie tiny little baby!
