Of all the ornaments on the tree that would appeal to kids like Santa Clauses, reindeer, cute animals, trains, instruments, etc., this little bird's nest seems to be Harper's favorite. When she saw it, she gave a little gasp and said, "Oh, my goodness. Would you look at that"! :) It immediately had to come off the tree and get carried around, played with, and kept close by. It was even taken upstairs to bed and placed on the bedside table. I heard Harper on the baby monitor say, "Night night, little eggs. See you in the morning". Awww.
A late post for yesterday. Hope to get back on track today...
Three good things:
1. Experiencing Christmas through a child's eyes.
2. When we were at the park and heard the church tower bells toll the time, Harper came running over all excited pointing to her face somewhere near her ear and said, "Grammy, listen...Jingle bells"!
3. Expecting my mom and stepfather this afternoon for a few days. They will be closing on their new house here in CLT this week. :)
What excellent good things Peggy! I'm going to have to borrow little Rosie for some junior Christmas 'eyes'. Mind you I upset Adam by not doing a mince pie and carrot last year and he's 16! Harper is the absolutely perfect age - she's going to be just in heaven on Christmas Eve.
Oh how very sweet! My sister in Atlanta is having her two new grandsons at Christmas...Mom has been warned to bring her sneakers to keep up with them...the baby has discovered emptied kitchen drawers make a wonderful staircase to the countertops! I will be content with my two babies at Christmas here -even though they are 26 and 28!!
That's so cute! My grandson Alex just loves collecting eggs from the backyard chooks every day and carries them reverently into the kitchen. Something about eggs that kids just love.
Enjoy every moment.
