Harbinger of Spring? by peggysirk

Harbinger of Spring?

This little robin was drying off in the sun on the back garden wall after taking a dip in the bird bath. It's a good thing he used this gorgeous, 63 degree (17C) day for his bath...tomorrow the temperatures are due to drop considerably and snow is in the forecast. We're heading for Charleston, SC early tomorrow for a fun family function, so we'll miss the possible snow flurries. I'm not heartbroken. :)
I'm running a little behind on commenting. Will try to catch up tonight, but if not, I'll be back on Sunday and will work on that. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Three good things;
1. A weekend in Charleston
2. A Valentine chocolate bar from Harper that we shared...she loved it as much as I did. :)
3. Family

Jealous of your Charleston trip - lovely town. Beautiful robin shot. X

Super Peggy, I have yet to get a decent bird shot but this little one is beautifully clear & looking at you out of the corner of his eye. He looks very spruce & bright!

What a sweet shot of this beautiful robin!!! We never see such pretty robins down here in Florida. In fact the last 2 yrs none of them even came to visit. I think they're all starting to prefer the north and don't migrate any more. I'm wishin' and hopin' they'll come this year and if so I'll be waiting with my camera. This is a fav!

Such a nice fat Robin. They truly always have been a sign of Spring, especially for those of us that live in the Northern "tundra" of the U.S., but this winter they never left. I felt so bad for them! I was sure I was going to wake up one day and find them all belly up on a snow pile. Amazingly enough, they feasted on the flowering crab trees in our cul-de-sac that still had a lot of berries hanging on the branches, and they are still alive. I was about ready to go to the local pet store where they sell fish and buy a bunch of worms!

Have a lovely time in Charleston. Love love loved it!
