My Sunshine by peggysirk

My Sunshine

This was way overexposed by the bright, direct sunlight...but I kind of liked the effect. I've been AWOL for a few days due to the fact I was using all my spare time watching seasons 1,2, and 3 of "Downton Abbey". Now that I'm caught up with the series, I can now start catching up with 365. :)

Three good things:
1. Spent the afternoon with Harper and Molly. It's Molly's birthday...seems like just yesterday that I was holding her in my arms for the very first time.
2. A beautiful spring day
3. My new Nikon prime 50mm lens, a birthday present from Tom, is supposed to be delivered today. I'm waiting for the FedEx truck...

@peggysirk your welcome Peggy

I really like this over exposed photo Peggy, it works really well & of course harper always looks so pretty!!!
Must be good watching all those episodes together, you wouldn't forget what happened!!! Exciting lens news!!!

There's something very innocent looking about overexposed children shots. This is very beautiful and wonderfully captured. Nice job Peggy. Hope your new lens arrives soon.

@happypat It was a great way to watch it, Pat. I watched two or three hours at a time. But now when season 4 starts, one hour is going to seem much too short. :) By the way, I hated the way season three ended!!

@peggysirk Are you talking about the death if so tell me what happened I missed it as we were in NZ
April 23rd, 2013
@happypat Are you certain you want me to tell you??
April 23rd, 2013
@peggysirk Well I won't get to see it again as it's been & gone here...i think I heard he was in a car crash.
April 23rd, 2013
Oh, you have been missed! Love this overexposed look. It does work very well. As for #3 - I bet you will love the 50mm lens. I know I do.

Spoiler Alert: Don't read this if you're waiting to watch the season 3 final episode of Downton Abbey in reruns!!
@happypat ~
Yes...Matthew had a head on collision in his Rolls? or Bentley? with a truck on his way home from the hospital after seeing Mary and their newborn son for the first time. So tragic.
April 23rd, 2013
@peggysirk Oh thanks Peggy & I didn't know she had had a baby either....sorry everyone I forgot about spoiling it for others you tend to forget some may have not seen it yet !
April 23rd, 2013
@barbsmith You're good luck, Barb... I was reading your comment and the doorbell rang... it was FedEx with the lens. Going to check it out now. WooHoo!
April 23rd, 2013
@happypat I think most people that are regular followers of the show have seen (or have heard about) that sad final episode. I am so hooked on that show and now I have to wait until January for season four to begin in the US. Ugh!

@peggysirk You might have seen a few of us mention Broadchurch which finished here last night if you get it over there watch it...has been outstanding 10 million watching & apparently Judith said it's going to be a series.
April 23rd, 2013
@happypat I have seen that mentioned, Pat. I'm going to google it and see what it's all about...
April 23rd, 2013
I am so happy that you get to share this little munchkins life. Great shot
April 24th, 2013
@peggysirk let me know if you find Broadchurch - I am watching Call the Midwife now and loving it - have been recording on my dvr. I love this Harper shot - the lighting makes her look so angelic!

Simply lovely
April 24th, 2013
@bpaquette / @happypat Apparently we're in luck, Barbara. "Broadchurch" is coming to the States later this year. I read a review of it and it sounds excellent - http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/04/22/broadchurch-this-british-murder-mystery-will-be-your-next-television-obsession.html
Now I'll have to check out "Call the Midwife"...is that on BBC America?
Thanks for bringing "Broadchurch" to my attention, Pat.

Tempus fugit Peggy - sigh.... I love the high key. That last episode of Downton made me really cross - gratuitous misery!! I'll get over it by the time the next one comes out. You're in for a treat with Call the Midwife and Broadchurch. Call the Midwife is extremely true to the books and I listened to an interview with the producers on 'Woman's Hour' (can you get Woman's Hour on the radio - you can't beat it for doing chores!) about how they managed to reconstruct the East End of the 1950's - I find myself composing photos all the time. And the music is brilliant @bpaquette

@judithg Gratuitous misery is so right...that and the fact that Dan Stevens has become a hot commodity and apparently needed out to pursue other opportunities. :( I've read glowing reviews on both Call the Midwife and Broadchurch. I'll be tuned in to CTM on Sunday night. I'll have to wait until 'later this year' (no actual date has been announced) for Broadchurch to premier. Now I'll have to google 'Woman's Hour' to get the scoop on that. So much good media, so little time. :)
April 24th, 2013
@peggysirk Yes - but you can 'do things' while listening to Woman's Hour. The only problem with the podcasts is that they don' usually include the serialised book at the end - I once caught three instalments of a really scary one and have never found out what happened in the end!
Shame they couldn't have sent Matthew away somewhere for a bit - although they probably feel they've had their 'return of JR' moment which the suddenly walking again. I'm still waiting for the burn victim to reappear with proof that he's the real heir!
April 24th, 2013
@judithg I think I can stream BBC Radio online...is it BBC Radio 5? What time is Woman's Hour on in the UK?
You know, I forgot all about 'Patrick' having made an appearance. The scriptwriters are going to have to resolve that issue at some point. I see a Patrick/Edith thing in the future....
