The Big Sister by peggysirk

The Big Sister

Harper seems very pleased with her new baby brother. I think she'll be a wonderful big sister.

Three good things:
1. Molly and Will are home from the hospital. Mother and son are both doing beautifully.
2. Grandchildren
3. Daughter, Elizabeth, is making Mother's Day dinner for me tonight since she'll have to head back to Atlanta tomorrow afternoon.

lovely happy family portraits

Harper looks so grown up now! compared to her little brother!!! Sweet! Happy Mother's Day! (My daughter was born on Mother's Day 27 years ago- today is her birthday - wonderful time of year for a baby!)

Ooooooh bless - she looks more impressed than Rachel was - mind you William is also cleaner than Adam was on first introduction!! There's a song isn't there about the strongest love being that of a sister for her little brother. I sometimes wonder if that bypassed our house but then she jumps into protection mode!

@judithg To be honest, Judith, I think she was just a bit more excited about the idea of making popcorn with Granddaddy if she would sit next to Will longer enough for me to snap a quick pic. Although I have a feeling that she will acclimate very well to the idea of having a baby brother sharing space in the family. She adjusts and accommodates well for a little person. :)

@bpaquette I knew Harper would look so much more like a 'big' girl once Will was on the scene...but I think she'll always be my baby girl. :)
It is a wonderful time of year for a baby! A belated happy birthday to your 'baby' girl! And a belated Happy Mother's Day to you!

@happypat Thanks for the good wishes, Pat!! I think Elizabeth shaved a good bit of time off of her drive from Atlanta on Thursday night. It normally takes about four hours...she made it in three and a half. It was a huge help having an extra set of hands helping to wrangle a two year old for the weekend. :)

Wonderful capture of your two beautiful grandchildren. Harper looks happy but a little afraid of touching William... so sweet.
