Rainout by peggysirk

Rainout

The big uptown fireworks show was scheduled for 9:30 on Thursday night. The skies were clear when we headed over to our favorite parking garage vantage point to stake out our viewing spot. We set up our tailgating chairs, poured some wine, I got the camera set up, we socialized with the gathered crowd, and were looking forward to a lovely fireworks display. The clouds started rolling in around 9:15 and at 9:30 the bottom dropped out of the sky with torrential rain. We packed up, headed home and lit sparklers on the porch...and finished our bottle of wine. :)

Oh bummer. what a way to end a great evening

Bummer. You left too early. But then again we sacrificed some over tired children to wait it out. What garage were hi on top of? Too funny if you tell me Target at the Met.

Not at the Met ...but I've heard that's a great spot. We were at the parking deck of an office complex at the corner of Euclid and Morehead, @geocacheking. We were home for about 15 minutes, sitting out on the porch, when we heard the huge booms starting up and realized we should've stuck it out a little longer. You win some, you lose some. :)

Oh well happy 4th July - you showed the true pioneer spirit there!

Bummer. Sounds like you made the best of it. Thank goodness for sparklers.
