Stink Bug by peggysirk

Stink Bug

I just read an article concerning the homely stink bug... entomology field researchers at Virginia Tech have determined that the prolonged cold temps from the Polar Vortex have created a 95% kill rate in the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug population. This is obviously one of the lucky 5% who made it through the winter. He found his way into my kitchen sink. Bleh. :( He still lives...having been relocated outside.

Three good things:
1. Trap and release
2. Daughter, Elizabeth, arriving from ATL for the weekend
3. Going to the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages" with both of my girls tomorrow night

I'm behind with comments...again. But plan to do some catch up work this afternoon.
Well I guess we will see come Spring whether the population has dwindled down

Interesting! I don't think I've ever seen a stink bug. What amazing details you captured. Unlike you, I would have killed it :-) Enjoy the musical tonight!

Nice detail and contrast. I love it when a photo shows the beauty in the not so beautiful. Great job!
