These are just a few photos for the album I'm putting together for my neighbor who was recently relocated to a senior living center...part of a collection of photos of her much loved home.
Her brother in Atlanta has made arrangements for an appraiser to come this afternoon to do a value assessment of the house and asked if I could be there to let him/her in and answer questions. Just yesterday I went to visit Anita (the neighbor) in her new home. All she wanted to talk about was 'getting out of here and going home'. Nothing like being placed in the middle of a difficult situation not of my own making. :(
On a happy note...heading over to babysit my grandbabies this morning. :)
Three Good Things:
1. Breyer's Triple Chocolate Indulgences gelato
2. Being called 'youngster'...granted it was by a resident of the senior living center...but I'll take it
3. Honeysuckle scented artisan soap
It looks like she has some beautiful pieces. It makes me so sad when I hear someone is moved out of their home and all of the belongings they’ve collected throughout a lifetime must be sold. Anita is lucky to have a compassionate neighbor to ease the transition.
You are so wonderful to help your neighbor adjust to this unfortunate situation. It makes me so sad, because I am reminded of my mother who felt the same and was never able to go back. But, I feel blessed that at least she could live independently in her home until she was 98, and think she realized that later on as well. What beautiful antiques and I LOVE that painting. You are so kind to do this.
This photo reminds me of Girl with a Pearl Earing.......the furniture has that sort of Flemish image.......your neighbours pride & joy I would think. Must be so difficult for you Peggy....you must feel like you are betraying her. So sad when you have to relinquish your home....would have hoped she might be liking it a little more by now! Good work !
