The dogwood tree blossom is said to resemble the shape of the cross, with the center looking like a crown of thorns, and a nail print on the end of each of the four petals...and they fittingly bloom during the Holy Week of Easter.
Three Good Things:
1. Today is my mom's 81st birthday...and she was off to yoga class when I called this morning ☺
2. The neighborhood farmers market opens for the season today
3. Harper and Will's paternal grandparents arrived safely from Nashville to spend Easter weekend with them. We'll all get together for Easter dinner on Sunday.
Beautiful Dogwoods Peggy.....I can see where the association with the Crucifixtion could be...just like the Passion Flower.
Sounds like a fun Easter.....big family parties are such fun! We are doing nothing this Easter obviously no chance of meeting up with sons & our daughter is in Braemar visiting friends so all on our own. Certainly don't mind ....our turn will come LOL! Happy birthday to your dear go for it mum......yoga is the best at any age!
Fav! This is such a beautiful shot. I've always enjoyed that story about the dogwood blossoms tie into the crucifixion. I'll need to keep my eyes open for any blooming in our area. It sounds like you'll be having a lovely Easter day. Enjoy!
