Home Again

Our buddy, Scrappy, had an interesting night last night. He was picked up by a concerned citizen somewhere in the 'hood and delivered as a stray to a 24 hour animal clinic. The clinic did a microchip scan, got our info, and gave us a call. All this took place within an hour's time. Tom let him out at 9:30pm, he had just finished talking to the clinic when I walked in the door at 10:00. We headed right over to pick him up and were back home with the boy by 10:30. Thank goodness he's chipped, otherwise I believe we would never have seen him again. Scary. I was online at midnight ordering him a new monogrammed collar with his name and phone number. With his track record of losing about a dozen of those $20 collars, he was just wearing a plain collar with the Sharpie-written info worn off. Lesson learned. ☺

Three Good Things:
1. A happy homecoming
2. HomeAgain Microchip Services...they sent an email last night asking if we'd been reunited with Scrappy
3. Scraps apparently wasn't the least bit traumatized by his experience...he insisted on heading back out when we got home. His semi-feral-ness does not recognize close calls.
Sometimes these people although they mean well mess the whole thing up. I'm sure Scrappy was not the least bit lost & would have been fine if left to his own devices but it is frightening to think how soon they can be whisked out of sight. So good you had him micro chipped! Welcome home Scrappy!

@happypat Thank you, Pat! I guess someone thought they were doing the right thing. My guess is he was picked up at one of the nearby bars or restaurants. Scrappy is quite familiar with all of the businesses around here and knows his way home better than I do. But I suppose he looked lost and alone to the person who 'rescued' him.

The little rascal probably enjoyed his little adventure. My cat Milo is always losing his collar, although i'm not sure how.
