The Ice House by peggysirk

The Ice House

One of the few remaining structures of Bleak House Plantation once located on what is now Botany Bay wildlife preserve (Edisto Island, SC). The Gothic Revival ice house was built in 1840. It had a partial basement made of tabby for storing ice. I was amazed to read that a shipment of ice could last up to eight months in the sultry low country climate. That says a lot for the insulation factor of tabby construction.

Three Good Things:
1. A fun sleepover with grandson Will
2. Playing basketball at the playground/park
3. Bedtime stories
This looks rather like an icing sugar house, tinged with pink it looks sweet & sugary!
