Power Outage by peggysirk

Power Outage

An uncommon winter thunderstorm knocked out the power in our neighborhood very early this morning. Duke Energy text alerts estimate restoration of power around 8:00AM.
Three Good Things:
1. Gas stoves
2. Aim n’ Flame lighters
3. A stash of emergency instant coffee
Oh no fun, but you captured the candle flame nicely. Just talked to my sister in Atlanta and she said it was horrible, but they still have power. I lost power for days last fall, ordered a propane camp stove and a french press for my coffee in case it happens again!

Pretty flame, hope you are back in business now.

Hard to get such a clear image of your candle without shadow Peggy. You sound all organised except if it was early you might have been groping about in the dark a bit!

@bkp A French press coffee maker!! What a great idea!! I never even thought about that as an outage option. I really don’t like instant coffee at all. It’s barely better than nothing. I’m on Amazon tonight to check out a French press.

@peggysirk now you can use the instant coffee for whipped coffee...1 tablespoon each boiling water, sugar and instant coffee and an electric mixer. Yum.

I love a good thunderstorm except when this happens and it affects my morning coffee. Hope you got your french press.
