The wonderful couple who lives here practice everything they preach. She is a retired high school teacher and former yoga instructor, who now volunteers her time at a teen crisis center. He is a retired pediatrician, who regularly spends three week segments volunteering at a free Appalachian family health clinic in western Virginia, as well as a clinic in Charlotte. I've always been charmed by the Simplify/Kindness Matters/Giggle fence in a section of their garden. 'Breathe' used to be on the fence. It must have fallen off.
