Neighborhood Peace Parade by peggysirk

Neighborhood Peace Parade

Apparently a planned Peace Day Parade had to be canceled last September due to lockdown restrictions. These precious little guys were determined to do a make up parade when restrictions were relaxed. Happy Random Peace Day!
Three Good Things:
1. Peace
2. Random parades
3. A delicious lunch of chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and mixed vegetables served to 180 folks at the soup kitchen today.
Awww!! Is you soup kitchen demand lessening a bit? I hope jobs are reappearing.

@judithg Our numbers have dropped to the point where we’re able to take 30 lunches to a low income Senior Center. There’s always a need no matter what the situation. But, thankfully, many of the Covid shutdown unemployed that we were serving have been able to return to work. A very good thing.

@peggysirk that’s great. We are trying to work out how to evolve- there’s a need among our senior visitors for company as well as food so we have some ideas around that but we also need to keep supporting our refugees and others in financial dire straits.

A few weeks ago, this crowd would have made me cringe. Now that so many are fully vaccinated, it brings a whole new sense of peace. Thank you again for your Pfizer vaccination trial!

The bicycle & its carrier look great & add lovely colour & focal point. I love a good crowd photo....you could look for ages at the scene!
Lunch sounds spot on!
