The Sunday Paper by peggysirk

The Sunday Paper

You don’t see this very often anymore, but there are a few folks in the neighborhood who still have the paper delivered. It’s a rather comforting nostalgic sight.
Hurricane Ida is making headlines this morning. Having lived in Baton Rouge and Morgan City, I’ve seen serious street flooding from just an afternoon downpour. Holding the people and places of south Louisiana in my heart and hopes…as well as those in the already rain saturated areas of the southeast as Ida moves north.
Three Good Things:
1, Blueberries
2. Early morning walks
3. Two big boxes of stuff from my closet for Goodwill drop off today
I always loved the feel of relaxing with a large pot of coffee and a Sunday paper, and sometimes a pencil for the crosswords. The paper carriers here are too slow, not arriving until 8:30 or after, when my day seems half over already, so I have switched to the online edition. Sigh. Not the same! Like your TGTs!

I saw this & thought of NZ as they have deliveries of papers that get thrown in the drive like this. We have deliveries here in Great Eccleston but I don’t think they do the smaller village of Little Eccleston where we live. Harry actually walked for the paper this morning….progress after his recent hip op!
I have loads of stuff for the charity shop…I’m embarrassed at how many clothes I have….when you see them all together on rails it really brings it home!
