Lake of color by phmlq

Lake of color

One more lake view from Kenozersky national park. I can't help but love these colors.

Lakes here are absolutely everywhere. I know they say that Finland is the land of lakes, but I guess northern regions of Russia can compete (they are actually pretty close, and in many senses – a little more about it in upcoming posts).

The most amazing thing about all these lakes is not that there are so many of them (sometimes you can see three at once), but how different they are. There are perfectly round lakes and octopus-shaped rugged-edged lakes, fishing lakes and dead lakes, tiny lakes and sea-like lakes, black, green, gray and blue lakes. All possible kinds of lakes one next to each other.

Sometimes you just cannot understand how it is possible that such different things could be naturally formed so close. Of course, there must be a scientific explanation, but actually I don't want to know. I would rather just admire this magic of nature.
beautiful image and the narrative is so interesting - I agree that magic of nature can be enough to fill a soul :)
