One more day in Ekaterinburg and it wasn't very productive. And when I say «very» I mean «at all». Unlike yesterday, museums weren't quite impressive and the industrial biennial of modern art was just awkward and incomprehensible.
Maybe it's simply not my type of art. But to me it was meaningless. I didn't take any pictures, cause there was nothing to take pictures of. And I didn't even understand why it's called «industrial» (not to say about «art») when there's no any industrial thing used in the exposition. There were some war sounds, plush parts of human bodies, pictures of aliens, zombie cartoons and weird videos of mausoleum and desert. Nothing at all industrial.
Well, maybe I just didn't get it. Maybe it was too complicated. And I love art that is more understandable. The art that have layers and if you try and dig, you can go all the way to the center of the earth. But even if you don't, you can still get it and enjoy it.
And it's much harder to create, I think. It's easy to put two thousand hidden meanings in one story or painting and say then «well, it's not for everybody» to all the people who cannot understand. It's much harder to make a simple thing meaningful and enjoyable.
