Well, not much has been happening lately, but here's what's new so far.
I decided to spend some time at my grandma's country house which is actually summer country house, but as long as it's only minus couple degrees outside you can stay more or less warm here.
There's no heating except for a little wood-oven, no water supply system, no possibility to take a shower or a bath, I have to sleep in my winter sleeping bag and my teeth are freezing from icy water I'm washing them with, but somehow it still feels much better than a city apartment. And, yes, it's the picture of the Twirly One.
Since the only real job offer I've got so far starts in two a half months and I'm not sure if I'm going to take it (I actually have another one that starts now, but I really don't want to waste my time working for a meaningless congress event), I've started to work on a novel I'd been trying to write for a very long time (I had actually started a dozens of them, but I'd never gotten further than a fourth chapter; a half of a first chapter is all it is for the most of them). And by work I mean work. The atmosphere here is just right for writing, so I've got three (out of twelve probably) chapters ready for now (unfortunately, in Russian), which means we're reaching the critical moment.
In the meantime, I applied for the Chevening scholarship. Studying abroad has been my unfulfilled dream ever since I graduated from the university (I couldn't afford it back then for many reasons – first of which was not knowing any English), so I decided, why not. There's still a thought in the back of my head that I'm a little too old for this ..., but what the hell – you're never too old. So, there's possibility that IELTS and some exams are coming soon, but to be honest, I don't think I'm going to get it. Still, worth a shot. And it was kind of pleasing to even imagine being a university student once again. Even more so I still have dreams about getting a PhD and teaching in later years, so it seems to be a right step to make.
@vera365 Which one is it? This far I've only applied for the Chevening scholarship, which can let you study in one of universities in UK, but I'm also looking for other programs.
