English Lavender, which is thankfully a bit hardier than the European variant (which looks so amazing when you see fields of it).
Not sure if it's just not suited to mass agriculture, or if there's a difference in the quality of the oil it produces, but we don't seem to grow it commercially, not in the Midlands at least.
I do love it though.
Beautiful focus. We do have a lavender farm in Bubbenhall (Warwickshire Lavender Farm) on the outskirts of Coventry in the Midlands and a really lovely coffee shop to go with it! They even show you how they extract the oil on the premises. Worth a visit just to see the lovely field of purple
Heck, do we?
I've lived around here for twenty years and didn't know that. Thanks for the tip!
