How strange and no ideas, sorry. If poppies were to revert I would expect it to be to red?! ( I was cross on Mon for not having my camera with me when I saw some salmon pink poppies, huge blooms.)

Beautiful rich centre of that white Poppy....looks like a very juicy blackberry on a white plate! Off on your hols so that means plenty if photo ops...that's what I always think anyhow! Have fun!
