Bodiam Castle, Sussex was built in the late 14th century. Although it appears intact from this outside view, the interior is open to the elements although it is possible to climb up some of the towers - which I did in the name of photography.
The castle was originally a working estate with farmland, wharf and flour mill. It has fallen into disrepair and been restored over the years and is now owned by the National Trust.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
This is so perfectly framed and shot; just love everything about it.
(I am not really around, so do not feel the need to visit and comment, I am back properly in July, just had to comment on this)
@quietpurplehaze I am fine thanks Honey but trying to help out where I can. Jude's Mum has come out of hospital she doesn't want to be in there now and who can blame her. The funeral is Wednesday and it is being arrange so she doesn't have to get in and out of cars too much. She finds this so very painful but hopefully by then she may have a lighter pot on. This does brings it a own problems though as then she has to try to learn to walk on that again.
We don't have castles :-( Wonderful picture with the framing and reflections. The color gives it a different atmosphere from the b&w. Looks peaceful here.
Thanks, Tony and for fav - a great subject for a photo!
Always pleased to be able to evoke memories, Arthur - Sussex is certainly a beautiful county, especially in the sunshine!
