We had a trip to the walled garden at Mottisfont Abbey which is famous for its glorious roses at this season.
There are also poppies, lavender, alliums, penstemmon, delphiniums, love-in-the-mist - and lots of visitors, so not easy to get people-free shots.
My bridge camera seems to over-expose in sunlight but I thought it handled this single peony well.
The longest day and we have pure bright sunlight here in the south of England. Ray has taken Jinks out before breakfast because he sometimes refuses to go when it's hot.

Beautiful detail and love the lighting. It is the winter solstice here in Australia, but this year not until 3.15 am on the 22 June officially. I think that is to do with the solstice in the UK as we are 9 hours in front of you at the moment.
We had the opposite today, the shortest day of sunlight. It was a glorious winters day though :)
