I saw 3 wigwams of this plant in the kitchen garden at Hinton Ampner. The leaves and tendrils made me think of peas growing but there were none to be seen and I've never before seen these flowers. Does anyone know what it is?
I always enjoy and appreciate your comments and I was happy to see my 'whipped & creamy' rose got to PP. Oh, and I've just noticed that my 'red and white' dahlia collage also made PP so a double thank you everyone! It's given me a boost.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Beautiful flower and colours and a Fav. for me. I believe it to be a Cobaea Scandens which is usually purple but the white is less common. I saw a purple one of these from the car window growing in the wild and meant to go back to photograph it thanks you have just reminded me.
Beautiful flower, and yes it's what Wendy said, you can grow them in your Garden, it's a summer plant for us, they grow to 10 - 12 feet tall, you can get the seed from garden centre's Hazel, well worth growing.
Many thanks to both of you - looked it up and saw pics of the lovely purple ones. Originally from Mexico, and apparently grows as a weed in New Zealand and is also generally called 'cup and saucer vine'. I shall tell Ray!
It sort of reminds me of the Luna Moth in color!! How stunning and the tendrils are fantastic!!! I would love something like this in my yard!!! This should certainly make the PP page also!!!! The composition, details and lighting is just incredible!!!! A Big Popular FAV!!!!

I should have taken a shot of a wigwam but I get carried away with my close-up flower shots!! Next time.
