A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
They have the most amazing blue eyes Hazel. We have 3 at the local country park and we call them "the doormen" They are definitely the bosses of the lake. Lovely capture x
Wow, what an amazing closeup shot, Hazel. I love all the detail you captured. I am struggling with my new Panasonic so researching and will call and go to the camera shop. Seriously thinking about selling it and getting another camera. Been researching today. FAV
I'm interested in what you say about your camera. I find my FZ62 a bit variable: can take some really good shots but can be disappointing - could be me of course! I've upped the in-camera settings - sharpness etc - have you tried that?
@quietpurplehaze I got tired of all the blur and tried all I could to get good photos. We skipped going to the camera shop and stopped at the store after talking to my son. He showed me the Sony a6000. Hoping I made a good choice. Time will tell. I miss my Sony that pooped out. I got great photos with it. Have gotten some good photos with the Panasonic but nothing like before with my Sony. I hesitated as my Sony now is not working much at all and the screen is really bad. Hoping this new Sony is a good choice for me. I almost went for the Fuji bridge camera and might pick that one up later, after I sell the Panasonic on ebay.
I think this is a bit spooky and I'm trying hard to think whether I told you that I had decided on a new camera?. Anyway, it's a Sony a6000, ordered it yesterday!
@quietpurplehaze Wow, that is totally crazy in coincidence, Hazel. I knew you were getting a new camera but not which one. I bought mine where my son works, at Best Buy here in town. We will have to keep in touch. I got the 16-50mm lens with it and bought the 55-210mm lens on sale. Found that the camera did not come with a charger that plugs alone into the wall but I have to plug a cable into the camera and then into a charger into the wall. Talked to my son this morning and he is looking into a wall charger and second battery for me. A lot more expensive than Amazon.com so may just order from there. Had problems with a battery on Amazon.com with my old Sony as it got stuck inside the camera and my son got it out luckily. I spent hours on youtube last night just learning as there was not much life in the battery that came in the box. Feel free to email me once you get yours if you like: solemdarlene@yahoo.com
@quietpurplehaze Just took my new Sony a6000 outside. I am used to using the screen to take photos. It is super glossy so I just get my reflection and have to use the viewfinder. Not sure how that will work at the park, etc. I like to see what I am shooting and what I am around as well. It sure is fast in taking photos. Will have to see how they look and take some Christmas photos around the neighborhood maybe tonight as many have decorated and we are as well today but only inside.

Tony, thank you - a fav before breakfast - that's nice!!!!
I don't think I could even manage orange lipstick, let alone eyeliner!
HaHa - no, just toast and marmalade!!!
Pete.it's a goose - now you've got me trying to think how to tell the difference with just a head and neck view!
Jill, if I made you laugh, I'm happy!

This was taken on zoom -but these geese do always seem quite friendly!! I never have Jinks with me as I know geese don't like dogs.
