A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
So beautiful. I love all the colors and detail that you captured so well. Looking forward to the longer days too. It has been so dark and so gray, rainy and wet. I have not taken one photo in two days. FAV
I just noticed that you took a trip to the camera shop. Is this where you ordered your camera? I cannot wait to see how you like it. Today I ordered a wireless remote shutter release, a UV filter, an anti glare/anti fingerprint screen protector, 2 batteries/wall charger/car charger, and a 64GB High speed SDXC card. Now to get out and take some photos. I meet a friends twin granddaughters tomorrow who she will be babysitting (they are three months old) and hope I do well with my new camera. Time to plug it in to have a full charge and off to sleep.
I bought a Sony a6000 with 16-50mm lens plus a 30mm kit lens. So far I've worked out how to charge the battery ( in camera), insert the memory card, set the time, fix on the strap (Ray did that), claim my cashback, being careful to use the correct serial numbers - soon I hope to take a photo! I'm happy that I chose the correct camera for what I wanted (have spent ages deliberating) but I find that Sony is the meanest of camera manufacturers. Not only do they not provide a full printed manual, you don't get any discs either, everything is on line. i've ordered a manual from my usual supplier which I use when the camera doesn't come with one. Another £18 on top of a few hundreds!!!!
@quietpurplehaze I set up my camera including strap. How exciting that you got yours now. I have my camera on the charger. I have two coming from Amazon.com with a wall charger in a few days. How did you get cash back? You make me laugh. I have to find out why my photos load on my computer so slow. Are you going to shoot in jpeg or raw or both? I cannot read the manual as the print is so small so watching youtube videos about it. It was not cheap at all when you buy the additional stuff you need. Have a great time with it. I change the lighting and put it finally on Auto just to get some photos. When you figure out how not to get blurred motion, like a yawning cat or just movement let me know, ok. Have fun with your new camera. Mine is sitting on the charger for now.
I've been out with it today, Linda, and I think it will be great. I did spend a long, long time researching the best camera for me, lightweight, as you say, and with a good viewfinder and a tiltable screen. I think I must have drive our 365 friend Ivan @ivan crazy with all my questions and requests for help!!
@quietpurplehaze So pleased you have the new 'toy' (!) Hazel. Hope you have many happy hours with it, and that it does what you want it to - take care changing those lenses! @pinkpaintpot
I got the assistant in LCE to show me how to change the lens on the demo camera and it's very simple. But I don't propose to carry around a bagful of lenses, more likely take out one at a time - for a while anyway. I've already a photographic question for when we all meet up!
Thank you for the comment and fav, Darlene. I'm finding I'm getting a bit short of photos too!

Must be the most expensive 'toy' I've ever owned!
