A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Wonderful shot and great story!! They use geese like guard dogs on some farms - they can be very aggressive. So pleased you didn't get hurt - apart from your pride that is!! LOL!!
ha ha. Know what that feels like, we came across two geese on guard duty outside a library when we were travelling and they wouldn't let us in. Had to come back later when they had moved on. They can be really vicious beggars.
Yes, I've seen geese in a garden we visited stopping two dogs walking past the lake and the owner had to pick up the dogs to get past - luckily not huge dogs! (It goes without saying that I never take Jinks on a visit to the geese.)
Ha ha! yes, geese can be tricky but you survived and a great shot as a result. put a couple of bonnets on them and they remind me of the disney film the aristocats!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahahahaha!! I hope none of those things happened to you??? It usually will to me!!! And by all means, STILL take the photo!!! Just too funny Hazel!!! Love the photo and the lessons!!! Huge FAV!!
This is such a great capture, Hazel. I love what you wrote. I have been bit by the one and only we have at our park like these two. They usually want food so if there is a next time bring food and run, well leave them. I am glad you are ok. FAV
Julie, thanks I got away OK - my main concern was not slipping in the mud - didn't want them laughing at me as well!
Yes, for being 365 stir-crazy!!!!!

I suppose it was the fact that they've been so friendly in the past which made me think they wouldn't really attack me!!!!!
Maybe that's why I wasn't really afraid!!
I'm so glad that I made you chuckle. I was a tad more apprehensive than chuckling at the time!!!!
You are right - I did do them all!!!! Slipping in the mud was my worst fear.
Yes, the shot is all!!!
Beautiful capture of those nice geese
Matt, thanks - lots of useful trees and bushes around this pond.
Thanks for comments, Darlene and I'm sorry you were bitten. I'll take heed!
