We had a walk on Old Winchester Hill yesterday where the South Downs Way runs for a bit as it comes to its conclusion in Winchester. It starts in Eastbourne and covers approx 100 miles of most beautiful coastal and inland scenery. Ray and a friend walked it all in stages one summer.
We just covered about 2 miles yesterday and Jinks is flat out this morning as he always walks further than us because he runs about on the extending lead. And his legs are shorter.
Plus he's a bit overwhelmed this morning to find himself on the PP for the second time in four days. He's happy you enjoyed his 'double' portrait!
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Ah Winchester Hill...I so many fond memories of this place. I remember lying on my back on a hot day staring up at the skylarks! Also very soon there are, or used to be, large areas of cowslips. Thanks for the memory! :-)
What a cool sign post!!! Love that it's out of wood! Great details and lighting!! I wish we had places like this to walk, but we are nothing but woods most everywhere except at the Horse Farm!!
Congratulations on the PP AGAIN!!! FAV!
How great. Ray found the only chilling bit was Beachy Head with crosses commemorating those who had taken a final leap there.
I'll go back at cowslip time - watch this page!! (They were there last year!)
I wouldn't be surprised. I actually think it takes a lot of courage to do that?!
Congratulations on the PP AGAIN!!! FAV!
