contorted willow by quietpurplehaze

contorted willow

A friend gave us this tree which was too big for his garden. It grew too big for our garden. Ray cut it down severely last year. This year it's grown even bigger.

Posted for ONS10 - today - nature.
Love the way you've focused and captured this Hazel

Lovely capture I love these contorted twigs but willows are beautiful but a nuisance in the garden we have one and regret ever setting it. The more it is cut back the more it grows.

As opposed to Twisted Hazel? :-)

Lovely capture. Nothing like giving a tree a haircut to get it to grow twice as big.

Anthony loves trimming trees too. I wouldn't have known this was a willow. Nice shot and technique.

@sgtpepper

Exactly!!! I also have a contorted hazel in a pot outside the front door. (Good to keep the contortions outside in the garden.)

What Sheralee said! Yes, funny how cutting a tree or bush back makes it grow even bigger!
