It was a sunny afternoon so I decided to take my camera over the fields as Jinks had already had two walks. I was hoping for the chance of another portrait in my strangers' series, perhaps a dog walker.
Instead, I was lucky enough to encounter Karla and Jack with Robin, their 3-month-old baby daughter. They were having a look at the trig point at the top of the field and I also wanted to look at it to find some information for a shot I'd just taken.
That shot vanished from my mind when they agreed to let me take their portrait. I did double-check that they would be happy for me to post the shot with their baby, Robin, blissfully sleeping.
Jack works as a gardener and as a children's entertainer. I wish now that I'd asked more about the latter. Does he do magic, I wonder? Karla's work involves recruiting foster carers but she is currently taking time out to be at home with Robin.
I've promised to email them their portrait. Well, there are two in fact and I had some difficulty deciding which one to include in my project as I really liked them both. (I modestly refer to the subjects, of course, not to any photographic expertise).
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Linda, I can tell that you have a good imagination!
