Lee works in the bar of the hotel where I am a health cub member. A few weeks ago he agreed that I could take his portrait but his duty hours and my swimming hours have only just this morning coincided.
I know that Lee and his partner, Jen, have recently moved flats and he told me they are settled and happy in their new place.
Lee showed me a different selection of cakes on the bar which he had organised but I think I will stick to my brunch of sausage and bacon bap which I sometimes order after a swim - probably not exactly a more healthy option - but very moreish.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I always crave savoury food if I have been swimming, don't know why! Bovril on toast is often my choice after swimming.....never eat it any other time! Nice portrait.
Thank you - I love doing them! These portrait & snippets are just what the title implies but I also have a strangers' project called Haze's strangers which started with an aim to capture 100 portraits and stories of strangers and which stands at 128 now - see them here: http://365project.org/tags/haze's-strangers sometimes there are 2 portraits of one subject (when I can't decide) or a dog or a breakfast dish! I hope you are not wishing you hadn't asked!!
A lovely portrait ,but he looks a tad nervous in front of the camera ! bless !! The sausage and bacon bap sounds wonderful ! I always prefer savoury food to sweet !!
Thanks, Phil, I had a bit of trouble with the lighting and had to do a little post processing - indoor shots always seem quite difficult in that respect.
Great candid portrait. Lee looks as if he could be the brother of our neighbour. He isn't - but such a likeness. Marmite on toast with a poached egg is good too!! (We are a love it hate it house with marmite - I love it Hubby - well let's just say yuk!)
I don't eat sugar now (only hidden sugar) so have been having marmite on toast. Thank you for reminding me about Bovril!

oops - only 127! (the idea came from Flickr originally)
Lee did tell me that he is not too comfortable having his photo taken so I was pleased that he even agreed - hope he will like it!
excellent composition too

Same here with marmite!
