Colin in b&w by quietpurplehaze

Colin in b&w

I've taken one of my earlier stranger portraits for a b&w conversion.

About 10% of my portraits are presented in b&w, often because of difficult lighting or a busy background.

I was quite happy with this portrait in colour but just thought to experiment with b&w.

I note that I started this project in Sept 2015.
A wonderful smile in his eyes as well. "Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been" Mark Twain. Fav.

Such a clear, detailed portrait shot that looks great in b&w

He looks a contented chap. That hat suits him! Great portrait Hazel.

He has such a relaxed expression. Really like this in black and white.

I am always drawn to black and white Haze, it does strip away distracting elements and always has a rawness about it. You did well to get catchlights in Colin's eyes. The mono tones are very pleasing too :)

Yes, I think I have learned a lot, consciously and subconsciously, through participating in flashofred for Feb 2018.
